Our September 2015 ‘Bar Plays’ production was performed at Cary’s “Mac’s Tavern” (1014 Ryan Rd.).
Shows were Sept 9 and 10 (Wed and Thu) at 8pm. There were 5 short PG13 plays (all written by NC playwrights), each directed by a different person, and admission was by donation at the door (no tickets, presales or reservations).
“Come grab a drink at your local bar and watch a variety of plays unfold right before your eyes! Some will be over before you finish your drink; others will have you calling for another round. All are guaranteed to leave you buzzed.”
Pictures, a video (of ‘Blind Date’), and more pictures! And a nice review from Byron Woods at the Independent!
- We performed two of the plays at SPARK.con downtown Raleigh 9/17: 7:10-7:30pm at Artspace!

Cougar Club by Annie Taft, directed by Thom Haynes
“It’s a hot night in the old town tonite for these hot to trot ladies of a certain age. Chels and Leeza are perched on their stools checking on the fun bun action and dissing on the competition (a bunch of skanky whore sluts!). Think ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ meets ‘A Night at the Roxbury’, a’ight?”

Mac’s Basement by Kenny Walsh, directed by Kurt Benrud
“Mark and Stacy love each other. Two years ago today, they met — here, at Mac’s Tavern. Is now a good time to take the net step? What is that step? When and WHERE should they take it? And what is up with Bridget (their waitress)? And WHY have they been seated in the basement when there are available tables upstairs AND out on the patio?”
Mark – Mike Rumble
Stacy – Jennifer Bell-Howard
Brigid – Elaine Quagliata
Wish Upon a Bar by Christian O’Neal, directed by Rachel Hunter
“Ellie is a struggling twenty-something with a crappy job, failing car, and a mountain of student debt. Not to mention, she’s about to go on her first date in over a year! So when she spots Drew, a fairy godfather from a popular website, she decides to trick him into thinking he’s responsible for her bad luck! Let the irrational face slapping and finger pointing begin!”
Ellie – Shannon Healy
Drew – Michael Bacigalupo
