We proudly present the 6th Annual NC Audio Play Festival! Originally co-created by The Cary Playwrights’ Forum and Creative Greensboro in 2020.

Auditions – Voice Performers

How to Audition

AUDITION SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN UNTIL SUNDAY JULY 20TH @ 11:59:59 PM
Your audition audio may be either a voice demo reel or a recording of you performing one or multiple characters from a script. You do NOT need to record audio for every character you are interested in. A director may reach out if they need to hear you read specifically for another character.
Your audition audio should be between 30 seconds and 1 minute.
Record your audition audio at a frequency of at least 44 kHz (44000 Hz). And avoid recording in places with “hum” and reverb. For more information, watch our quick Tips and Tricks video below!
Note that the Google submission form does NOT accept m4a files. You’ll need to convert them to mp3 files. Contact us if you have any issues!

If you wish to be considered for multiple plays, you must submit audio for all those plays.

Festival Need-to-Know

All voice performance roles in the 2025 NC Audio Play Festival are volunteer positions.
Voice performers should expect 1-2 rehearsals scheduled based on cast and director availability.
Voice performers must be available to re-record audio if necessary.
The completed audio productions will be available on a free-to-stream service.

Please audition! Don’t let character descriptions discourage you. Voice acting allows anyone to play any role.
Any pronouns or gender listed below refer to the respective character and may not necessarily reflect those of the performer cast in the role.

Amazing Grace
