Cary Playwrights' Forum was founded in February 2008 to provide local playwrights and aspiring playwrights with the opportunity to learn and hone their craft in a supportive and educational environment. The Forum will also provide opportunities for playwrights to hear their short plays or portions of their full-length plays performed in regular staged readings. Actors, upcoming directors, and playwrights will be able to build working relationships and hone their crafts.
Topics covered in Spring 2008 included: Theme, Plot, and Character; Protagonist vs. Antagonist; Characters and Plot; Beginning, Middle, and End; Dialogue, Silence, and Actions; Dialogue; Table Readings with Actors; Revisions; The Business of Show Business.
We will reconvene in Fall 2008 with a new schedule of topics and activities. If you are interested participating or would just like to find out more about our group please send an email to register@caryplaywrightsforum.org.
