{"id":1452,"date":"2013-09-16T16:42:10","date_gmt":"2013-09-16T20:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.caryplaywrightsforum.org\/?page_id=1452"},"modified":"2022-09-11T17:53:28","modified_gmt":"2022-09-11T21:53:28","slug":"about-us-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.caryplaywrightsforum.org\/?page_id=1452","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cary Playwrights&#8217; Forum&#8217;s <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mission<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">is to provide NC playwrights and aspiring playwrights opportunities to develop as dramatic writers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">vision<\/span> <\/strong><u><\/u> is a collaborative community where dramatic writers are supported on their journey to create works that are of value to the world.<\/p>\n<p>We offer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>regular feedback sessions with other playwrights, actors, and directors<\/li>\n<li>the opportunity to collaborate with allied artists in periodic staged readings or productions of their original work<\/li>\n<li>educational workshops<\/li>\n<li>help to independent producers of NC writers&#8217; work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Founded in 2007 by Linda Depo, Lydia Sbityakov, and Laurel Wetzork, the forum was sponsored by Cary Players from 2007 until 2011 when it became a North Carolina independent non-profit corporation. In 2013, Cary Playwrights&#8217; Forum became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (click here to see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caryplaywrightsforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/CPF-by-laws-approved-6-6-2018.pdf\">by-laws<\/a>\u00a0and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caryplaywrightsforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Policies.pdf\">policies<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Nondiscrimination,\u00a0Conflict of Interest, and\u00a0Accessibility).<\/p>\n<p>Our playwrights meetings are held every third Wednesday night from 7 &#8211; 9 pm in the second floor conference room at the Cary Arts Center, and are open to all.
