The Cary Playwrights' Forum's mission is to help playwrights and aspiring playwrights of Cary and surrounding areas in North Carolina to develop as dramatic writers through educational workshops; regular feedback sessions with other playwrights, actors, and directors; and the opportunity to collaborate with allied artists in staged readings or productions of their original work. Founded in 2007 by Linda Depo, Lydia Sbityakov, and Laurel Wetzork, The Forum was sponsored by Cary Players from 2007 until 2011 when it became an independent non-profit corporation. Board of Directors 2011-2012 Our board members serve two year terms with a required break of twelve months between terms. Applications for new board members are accepted annually between May 1st and June 15th. You do not need to be a playwright to serve on the BOD; in fact, we need directors with a variety of skills including: graphic design, website design, fundraising, marketing, governance, as well as all aspects of production and theatre arts.
