Happy New Year!
2014 is looking to be an exciting year for the Cary Playwrights’ Forum! We kick off the new year this month with a “24 Hour Play Festival” on January 24-25th! Six Playwrights! Six Directors! And only 24 hours to create six new plays for 21 actors! This is the first of it’s kind in the Triangle! And, for a special treat, Kirk Ridge and Friends Band will be performing original music during the show! See the post on our site for details!
This is followed by a playwriting workshop in February with playwright Mark Harvey Levin…an expert in the short form play! His work with be showcased by the Cary Players in their theatrical offerings in February…An Evening of Possibilities! Visit their website for tickets on sale now!
Our playwright meetings are still available the third Wednesday of each month at the Cary Arts Center in the 2nd floor conference room for any writers who would like to work with other playwrights to further develop their writing skills. A change made in 2014 is for the CPF Board meeting to be held right before the playwright meeting…so if you have any questions for the Board…please visit with us before the playwright meeting starts or send your questions along to us at cpfinfo@caryplaywrightsforum.org .
There is more exciting news about the activities of Cary Playwrights’ Forum in 2014…but we will keep you updated on these events in future posts! For now, we hope to see you at the “24 Hour Play Festival” and plan to join us for our playwriting meetings each month!
